Dr. Chen, Long is the director of Luohan Academy, the open research platform supported by both Alibaba and Ant Financial, that bring the best research minds together with first-hand practical insights and data to advance the research frontiers of the digital economy and shape constructive consensus for the public good. He is also the executive provost of Hupan School of Entrepreneurship, the school initiated by Jack Ma and some of China’s best entrepreneurs to study, educate, and serve entrepreneurs in the 21st century. Since its inauguration in 2014, Hupan has become one of the most selected business school in China with one of the lowest acceptance rates in the world. He served as the chief strategy officer of Ant Financial during 2014-2018 and still serves on the fintech advisory board of IMF. He also has held the positions of Deputy Chief Director of PBOC’s Research Center of Internet Finance, Deputy Chief Director of China’s Internet Securities Commission, and Deputy Chairman of China’s Internet Insurance Association. Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Toronto and was a tenured professor at Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis. After returning to China, Dr. Chen took the position of the associate dean of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and built its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program during 2010-2014.
