As a Chief Digital Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Core Services Engineering and Operations, Kurt DelBene leads the company’s cross-engineering and cross-business strategy, execution and planning initiatives.

He joined Microsoft in 1992 and over the years he served in several roles within Microsoft’s product development teams, including president of the Microsoft Office Division, responsible for driving Microsoft’s global product strategy for information workers. Prior to that, he was a management consultant with McKinsey and Company, focusing on business strategy for technology companies. He also worked as a software developer and systems engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories, working in graphics and imaging software and network switching systems.

In 2014, he briefly left Microsoft to work with President Obama and his administration to improve, the enrollment website for the Affordable Care Act. He also spent time working with Madrona Venture Group as a venture partner.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona.
