Carolina Abenante is the Founder, Executive Vice-Chairperson, Chief Strategy Officer, General Counsel, and former President of NYIAX, a blockchain-powered advertising technology and exchange platform she helped develop in partnership with NASDAQ. Carolina is based in New York, New York.
Carolina earned a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance and Accounting from Seton Hall University in 1994 and went on to attend New York Law School, from which she earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in Taxation in 1997. Carolina also obtained a Master of Business Administration from SDA Bocconi in 1999 and has subsequently undertaken executive coursework at Harvard Business School and Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
Carolina began her career as a Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Telecom Italia from 1998 to 1999. Upon her return to the United States, Carolina served as Director of Corporate Development for United Online, at the time the third-largest Internet service provider in the US, from 1999 to 2001. Carolina then worked as a Senior Director of Business Development and Strategy for Reed Business Information from 2000 to 2005, and then as Managing Director of Global Marketing and Development for Voicestar from 2005 to 2007. From 2006 to 2009 Carolina served as Vice President and Senior Director of Strategic Alliances and Policy for Phorm, and from 2011 to 2015 was a Senior Vice President and Advisor at Cypress Ventures. Carolina founded NYIAX in 2015, served as its President until 2018, and remains at the company as Executive Vice-Chairperson, Chief Strategy Officer, and General Counsel.
