About

Brian W. Tang has worked on Wall Street, in Silicon Valley during the dotcom boom and now Hong Kong as an award-winning corporate finance and project finance lawyer financing technological innovations to benefit the real economy. As the founder of Asia Capital Markets Institute (ACMI), Brian provides inclusive global thought leadership, industry-wide consensus building and transformational support for technology, educational and policy solutions. Brian previously spent more than 15 years at global investment bank Credit Suisse in Hong Kong and at law firm Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and California, where he advised on some of the world’s largest and first-ever financial services and technology capital markets and M&A deals, project bonds, and microfinance. Brian has worked on IPOs in nearly every Asian jurisdiction, and some landmark transactions include the dual-listings of China Telecom (NYSE/HKEx), ICBC (HKEx/SSE), UC Rusal (HKEx/Euronext Paris) and Glencore (LSE/HKEx); Alibaba.com’s privatization; and leading a cross-disciplinary team to establish and manage a Chinese joint venture investment bank.

Brian is a frequently invited speaker at international industry conferences and universities, a published author on international securities regulation and Fintech, and played a leading role in many industry-wide regulatory initiatives.

Brian also founded Young Makers & ChangeMakers, an inclusive youth technology development and educational social enterprise whose recent #GirlsMakeTech program engaged nearly 300 girls from over 40 schools, resulting in a Hong Kong team winning the Technovation Grand Prize (Junior Division) in Silicon Valley from over 1100 teams worldwide.
