Ashneer Grover, an IIT Delhi and IIM –A alum, is currently building the largest offline merchant network in India by making mobile payments acceptance free and ubiquitous. Within 6 months of operations, BharatPe has become the driving force, leading digital payments among merchants in the country. BharatPe has established operations in 15 cities, serving over 8.5 Lakh merchants, and managing 10 million monthly transactions accounting for roughly 15% of merchant payments on the UPI network. The company also raised the largest Series A round by any Indian startup in May 2019.

In 2017-2018, Ashneer led digital transformation and strategy at the second-largest Jewellery retailer in India. He Consolidated e-comm operations under a single brand PCJ. Set the company up for the next phase of consumer experience-driven growth and diversification into adjacent businesses. Apart from that, Ashneer also worked on setting up a digital gold loan business for PCJ using existing infrastructure and digital distribution so that costs of borrowing can be lowered for individuals.

As Chief Financial Officer between 2015-2017, Ashneer, built 'Grofers' business along with the founders - Albinder and Saurabh, raising the US $170M from Softbank, Tiger, Sequoia and Yuri Milner, and made Grofers one of the top two e-grocery platforms in the country. He was the sole CXO and built the business from scratch and led multiple iterations.

Prior to this he headed Corporate Development at American Express, for India and led Series - B investment in a payments company, MobiKwik. He also raised the first local deposit of Rs. 100 crores for American Express Banking Corporation from Snapdeal, bringing down the cost of capital.

As the Vice President for Kotak Investment Banking Ashneer had closed 10 Deals of transaction value worth US$ 3 billion. A specialist on large and complex transactions, he has worked across private and public equity transactions (IPO/QIP) including M&A, arbitration and PSU divestments covering multiple sectors at different points of time - Auto, Retail, Real Estate, Media, Oil & Gas and Telecom.
